An energetic performance that promises to take you somewhere unexpected: this is not your usual kitchen sink drama.
I am one half of experimental performance duo SHATTER RESISTANT together with the brilliant Eleanor Massie.
Cathy’s Kitchen manipulates autobiography to explore how adult selves are structured by childhood environments, posing questions about identity within contemporary culture. Placing our friendship on stage, we confront vulnerability in the face of mortality, the need for companionship and the desire to escape through make-believe.
Devised and performed by Sophie Rose and Eleanor Massie

The most recent development of Cathy’s Kitchen was generously supported by Jacksons Lanes and using public funding from Arts Council England.
As SHATTER, we have also created site-responsive pieces One In One Out for Drunken Chrous’ Drunken Nights and After Party for The Sampled Festival at Cambridge Junction.
We have recently contributed to a book compiled by Robert Daniels of Bootworks Theatre entitled, DIY (Do. It. Yourself.). The book is written by over 30 arts practitioners and collectives (Action Hero, Made In China, Forest Fringe) and aims to articulate and contextualise an ethos and practice within contemporary art called ‘DIY’ theatre and performance of which we are very much a part of!
The book is now available to buy on line from Unbound.
